DAY 47. PORT DE LA SELVA TO CAP DE CREUS, JULY 14TH

The sun comes out in all its glory but we don’t care about sun-burn on our last day. Running a bit late (Sandy’s parents coming) so can’t stop in the cove on the way. Come out to the last stretch of road along to Cap de Creus and shortly after we hear a car beeping as it comes up behind us. BIG AND LOVELY SURPRISE as it is Cecile and Lorenzo. Since we have no reception they haven’t been able to tell us they are coming. Cecile walks with us in her wedgies! Meet young Catalan couple who have just started the GR (at 1pm, guys, you have a lot to learn!). Their excuse is that they were having breakfast and getting the bota de vino (which they share with us). Cecile runs on ahead and we arrive at “finishing line” they have prepared with crepe paper and poster of “Welvinguts”. Minutes later Sandy’s parents arrive. So all in all we have an exciting and garlanded arrival which takes the edge off the depression at ending something wonderful. Beers on the terrace by the faro and sandwiches at the beach of Port Lligat.  THE END (UNTIL NEXT TIME).
